Happy Mother’s Day and Welcome to My Garden

Mother's Day Garden

Mother’s Day Garden

I thought I would share my flower garden. Each Tuesday I have an afternoon class which consists of several Moms in the group. So instead of picking up roses and passing them out, I decided I would bake the garden for them. And besides I can never get it right when it comes to the colors. Red, yellow or white, who gets which? Instead I baked chocolate cup cakes and frosted with pink butter cream frosting. As for the flowers I found white roses and daisies at the baking department of a craft store. This project also gave me a chance to make butter cream frosting. For years I thought it took real skills or many years in the kitchen to make this frosting. How amazing it was to discover this simple and easy to make treat. All I needed was confectioner’s powdered sugar, butter, flavoring and a liquid (coconut water, coconut milk, dairy or water). I used Wilton food coloring to get the pink.

Well I will be baking cakes more and making my own frosting.      HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!!
