Pear and Coconut Water Treat

July 4, 2014

Just a little lighter than the previous drink.

Here is another treat from my NutriBullet and fruit bin. Once again I love using the Nutribullet because of the low in calories and low cholesterol tasty treats I managed to work up in my imagination. It also saves me from eating or drinking too many of the wrong things. This is also a refreshing drink for a rather hot day. Enjoy

– One large pear
– 10-15 ounces of Coconut water (check the line on the NutriBullet)
– Fresh ginger
– 1 tablespoon of honey
– Ice cubes

Cool and refreshing. Great for a hot summer day.

After washing the pear, remove the stem and cut the pear in half. Place the pear, ice, coconut water and ginger in the machine, remembering to save the honey for last. As mentioned in a previous blog, if you place the honey in the NutriBullet container first, because it becomes too cold it may become congealed and stick to the top of the container. Mix for 30 seconds or less. The mixture will become a smooth and creamy beverage and turn white in color.

This is a creamy and refreshing drink and if you are a little risky this can be kicked up a tab and served as a cocktail (a twist on piña colada,). But go easy. I prefer it without the extra boost and in place of sugary and high calorie desserts.
