It is all about the sauce.

This is not about the wonderful salmon cakes I made for dinner but a twist on tartar sauce. Mayo, sour cream and capers add for a different touch.  Here are the ingredients needed for this side dish; sauce; spread.   You can change up the measurements to suit you and the pickle juice can be any of your choice.  I used


¾ cup Mayo

¼ cup sour cream

1 tablespoon pickle juice

1 tablespoon capers

Salt and pepper to taste


Gather capers from the jar and do not rinse them. Rough chop the capers.  You want them noticeable but not too large and not to fine.  Mix in the mayo, sour cream and pickle juice until smooth fold in the capers, salt and pepper.   Cover and place in the fridge until ready to serve.  This is can be used with salmon cakes and I also used it on a veggie burrito.
